E-Waste Program
40 Million tons of Electronic Waste is disposed in landfills worldwide every year. Unfortunately, technology in landfills releases toxic metals that can contaminate groundwater. While some Americans own computers and are able to purchase new models every year, 26 percent of Americans still don't have access to computers.
Our E-Waste Program serves to tackle both of these problems with a clever and unique approach. Since many Americans oftentimes throw out or store operational computers due to their old age or outdated hardware, we thought of the idea to repurpose these old computers for low-income households.
By refurbishing and recycling these computers we can reduce the impact our technology has on the environment as well as increase accessibility to those in low-income areas.
